Hello fellow science enthusiasts! My name is Vaishnavi. I am a premed freshman at USC majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Natural Science. In my career, I aim to bring technological advances to improve medical techniques.

The newest section of this blog, “HOT STUFF: CS/AI/ML for Medicine,“ will cover Computer Science and AI/ML concepts that I’m learning in college due to my involvement in research. I hope this will inspire students looking for research ideas involving these fields, as well as students who want to learn more about this rapidly advancing field.

In high school, I was deeply involved with the USA BioOlympiad community. The “Brain Snips” section of this blog is geared toward middle and high school students preparing for the USABO. These articles are designed as supplemental material to the recommended textbooks. I hope these articles are of use to students who seek succinct explanations of difficult concepts.

I was also highly successful in high school research competitions. In addition to advice on research competitions, the “College Admissions, USABO, Research” section of this site contains advice for students on how to think about journeys through admissions, Olympiads, and research. I hope students are able to use my reflections on these processes to improve their high school experiences.

“Research/Technical Articles” is an archive of long-form content from my involvement in proteomic research at UCSF.

Happy learning!
